Traffic barriers installed by pile drivers at car park to stop travelers

Traffic barriers are set to be installed by hydraulic pile driver at a car park in Buckinghamshire in a bid to stop travellers staying on the site.

According to Bucks Free Press, the car park, in Marlow, was being used by a group of travellers until they were told to move on.

Now a height restriction traffic barrier will be erected by hydraulic pile driver to prevent it happening again.

A spokesperson for Wycombe District Council, Catherine Spalton, told the newspaper the travellers were served with a notice and outlined the measures taken subsequently.

"We understand that they have left the site, in accordance with this notice.

"We will be installing a road barrier by hydraulic pile driver at this car park to prevent future illegal encampments at this location."

The car park, with space for 28 cars, is for permit holders only and is open from Mondays to Fridays.

Last month it emerged that traffic barrier would be erected by hydraulic pile driver as part of a £1.63 million upgrade at a travellers' site in Lincolnshire
